An exploration on drawing and identity within a pedagogical environment
Mirror Identity Drawings is a project that investigates the relation between identity and drawing. In other words, the way drawing becomes a tool for the research and understanding of identities – in its multiple forms. Its aim is framed in a more general one: the exploration of new comprehensive methodologies for the teaching of the arts.
The project is a two-part program. One the one hand there’ll be a Conference on the subject of Drawing and Identity; and, on the other hand, a workshop on drawing, dealing with these same issues.
Both parts of the program, the Conference and the Workshop, will involve Portuguese and foreign lecturers as well as Portuguese and foreign students. The aim is to explore the way identity-through-drawing is experimented and understood within different cultural and pedagogical contexts.
