gesture of void, thinks of the human as a hybrid set of materials, and thus, to be able to say that we were never (only) human. It is a duology composed by the installation bodies of water and the installation/performance bodies of wind.

After presenting the first part of this duology at Ágora in Leiria, Carincur now presents gesture of void: bodies of wind at CUBÍCULO in Caldas da Rainha.

A piece that explores the visible and invisible patterns of wind. Establishing a dialogue between space, body and voice.

For us humans, the flow of water and wind sustain our own bodies and also connect us to other bodies, to other worlds beyond ourselves.

Our bodies of water and wind undo the idea that bodies are necessarily, or only, human. The bodies from which we are born are certainly human, but they are equally a sea, wind, a cistern or an underground reservoir of old.

Carincur is a transdisciplinary artist based in Lisbon. Artistically develops work in hybrid formats between performance, electronic and experimental music, audiovisual installations, among others.

In the last years, she has been investigating and developing her research through the quadrinomial space/body/voice/machine as main plastic materials, where she explores auditory and visual perception, the voice as a synthesis device and the creation of post-human voices, used to understand the transitions between organic and electronic bodies.
