In the framework of its Arts and Sustainability Forum and of the MONDIACULT 2022: The UNESCO WORLD CONFERENCE ON CULTURAL POLICIES AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, the UNESCO Chair in Arts and Culture Management, Cities and Creativity of the Polytechnic of Leiria will hold the meeting LEARNING FROM THE TERRITORY – SOCIAL AND ARTISTIC COMMUNITY PRACTICES, as a side event in Portugal (26 and 27 September) of the event in Mexico (28-30 September).
LEARNING FROM THE TERRITORY – SOCIAL AND ARTISTIC COMMUNITY PRACTICES invites Portuguese and international creators from Portuguese speaking African countries, as well as national programmers, researchers and cultural and governmental organizations, to present and reflect on the typology of the projects that grow worldwide and constitute the main cultural mark of the enlarged territory of Leiria. With François Matarasso as key-note speaker, the meeting aims to catalyze visibility, sustainability, and international exchange of the presented projects, as well as the understanding and inclusion of the Social, Artistic Community and Participatory Practices in the regional, municipal and national public policies and economics.
The meeting will count with the participation of several cultural agents and representatives of cultural and governmental organizations and will be organized by the UNESCO Chair in Arts and Cultural Management, Cities and Creativity, together with ESAD.CR – School of Arts and Design. It will be held in a face-to-face format with online broadcasting at the ESAD.CR, Caldas da Rainha, in the days immediately prior to MONDIACULT2022 and directly related to its proposal.
